Susan Burns Tisdale Memorial Award Winners Announced

Exeter, NH - Exeter Hospital is thrilled to announce the most recent winners of the Susan Burns Tisdale Memorial Award for Patient Service: Mary Brackens, LNA, Progressive Care; Ashley Mitchell, RN, Family Center; and Sarah Stevens, RN Clinical Practice Leader, Intensive Care. Mary, Ashley, and Sarah were selected, based on nominations submitted by their peers, for exemplifying Susan’s vision for ideal patient care. Below are excerpts from those nominations:
"Mary shares experiences and improved care techniques with everyone in an enthusiastic way, fostering further drive for all of us to continue to search for resolutions to everyday challenges. She personifies ideal patient care.
"Ashley provides exceptional care to her patients and pays close attention to detail. As a member of the Unit Based Practice Council, she has assisted with developing the Family Center’s fetal demise program. She goes above and beyond."
"We are so fortunate to have Sarah on the frontlines of care. Her collaborative efforts with other ICU/PCU leaders and staff to develop standard work at the bedside has had a positive impact on patient care."
Susan Burns Tisdale served as Exeter Hospital's Chief Nurse Executive for 12 years, prior to passing away from cancer in 2020. A hallmark of Susan's career was her unwavering focus on patients, and her extraordinary commitment to inter-professional team collaboration to better serve patient needs. This monetary award, which is dedicated to Susan’s memory, is given to three Exeter Hospital employees each quarter who demonstrate these same qualities. One annual winner is then selected from all quarterly winners.
