Oversees the operation of one or more patient care business units or corporate programs.
The Director of Infection Prevention ensures high quality, patient-centered care by developing and leading the Exeter Hospital Infection Prevention Program and outlining and supporting infection prevention goals and activities at Core Physicians and Rockingham Visiting Nurses Association and Hospice. The Director designs and carries out the annual Infection Prevention Plan and develops policies and procedures that support successful quality and patient safety outcomes and ongoing improvement in the delivery of healthcare to patients. Ongoing infection prevention activities include surveillance, data analysis, reporting and prevention of nosocomial infections and bloodborne pathogen exposures and education of staff. Through the program, the Director will ensure the identification of areas of opportunity and will supports departments, teams and committees in their infection prevention efforts at the frontline of care across the system. The Director maintains program compliance with federal, state and local regulations and accreditation requirements, maintains current knowledge and competence in industry advancements and represents the organization in statewide infection prevention activities. Reporting to the System Senior Director of Quality and Patient Safety, the Director collaborates with the Medical Director/Epidemiologist, department staff and the Infection Prevention and Patient Safety Committees to make decisions and design activities in support of the Infection Prevention Program.
- Bachelor’s Degree in health related field – Required
- Master’s Degree in health related field – Preferred
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) - Required
- 5+ years of experience in a hospital setting – Required
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership role – Required
- 5+ years of experience in Infection Control – Required
